Graceland University is a member of the North Central Association and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Graceland University's teacher education programs are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) while the nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

History:

Established as Graceland College in 1895 by the RLDS Church (now the Community of Christ) at Lamoni, Iowa, Graceland University started its era of educational glory with 18 men and women students, 4 faculty members and a dean. Changes, additions and inclusions kept on flowing until June 1, 2001 when Graceland College officially became Graceland University. The four-year degree program was implemented in Graceland University in 1960.

Doctor John D. Sellars is the running president of Graceland University.
