University of the Rockies was established on 18th June, 1998 as the Colorado School of Professional Psychology (COSPP). The aim of the school was to provide a standard based professional graduate education in psychology to all individuals seeking future profession as psychologists.

Bridge point Education purchased the School in September, 2007 and the COSP name was then changed to University of the Rockies.

University of the Rockies educates students both in the fields of Master of Arts in Psychology and the Doctor of Psychology and also offers professional specializing in both the mentioned fields.

University of the Rockies is accredited by the prestigious Higher Learning Commission and is also a member of the North Central Association (NCA).
