Established in 1970, Walden University is a private, profit oriented and specialized distance learning institution of higher education situated in Mills District in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The University has been ranked 2nd in the "Peer Web Citations" category by Online Education Database in 2009 and is accredited by Higher Learning Commission (HLC). History:

Two New York teachers, Bernie and Rita Turner established Walden University was in 1970. The first classes took place at a hotel in Naples, Florida in 1971 summers. In 1972, Walden University granted its first degree. Moving its headquarter in 1982 to Minneapolis the university in 1995, expanded its degree offering to master's program in education, offering a Master`s Degree in Educational Change and Technology Innovation.
